Simply expressed, the Ion Therapy Centre consists of three elements; a green hill, a block of copper and a glass tract. These elements also represent the internal separation of functions. The glass tract, which extends only a single storey out of the site, is the location of the medical facilities. The copper block houses the therapy centre’s radiation functions, although only the largest volume is externally visible – the core of the unit is concealed in the grass-covered hill.
