Christine Nickl-Weller was one of twenty-one speakers from eight countries to address a Berlin symposium on the future of healthcare. The purpose of the event, held on 14 March, was to share ideas and know-how and discuss the latest innovations in the field.
The symposium, the fifth of its kind, was held in the Akademie der Künste by the hospitals and healthcare building design department at Berlin’s Technical University. Its theme was “healing architecture and communication”, and architects, planners, medical experts, economists and scientists shared their visions for the healthcare challenges of the future.
The four main themes of this wide-ranging interdisciplinary event were communication, architecture, society, and space, all with reference to healthcare. It was moderated by Prof. Eckart Rüther, Sebastian Redecke, Dr Cor Wagenaar, and Prof. Andreas Denk.
The other speakers were Prof. Hans-Ulrich Heiss, Dr Christine Romann, Morten Rask Gregersen, Prof. Hans Nickl, Ute Schneider, Prof. Ruzica Bozovic-Stamenovic, Jens Schneider, Prof. Volkwin Marg, Laura Lee, Prof. George J.
