Construction work at the Institute of the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) began in October.
The DLR Institute of Test and Simulation for Gas Turbines will soon enrich the Innovation Park in Augsburg on a floor space of almost 2,500 square metres and serve as a research and work place for about 70 employees.
The Chairwoman of the DLR Executive Board, Prof. Dr. Ing. Anke Kaysser-Pyzalla, attributed great importance of the project’s progress for the research infrastructure and Bavaria’s vision of emission-free flying. The DLR Institute of Test and Simulation for Gas Turbines develops a competence platform for virtual aero engines as well as experimental test facilities. The resulting propulsion solutions will help to significantly reduce fuel consumption, emissions and aircraft noise.
We are delighted to have been commissioned with such an important project and look forward to the progress of construction!
