The groundbreaking ceremony on April 26 marked the start of construction of our lecture hall, seminar and office building at the University of Konstanz. It will be a prominent component of the “New Center” on the central campus square and will be a central meeting point for students and teachers with its seminar rooms, student workspaces, the central lecture hall and the spacious open staircase.
The state of Baden-Württemberg is investing around 70 million euros in the new building, which is designed with an innovative sustainability concept to achieve an optimal environmental balance. This includes features such as a passive house facade, extensive green roofs, and a photovoltaic system. We are proud to be a part of the University of Konstanz’s climate strategy and look forward to its implementation.
Quote from Prof. Dr. Katharina Holzinger, headmaster of the University of Konstanz:
“The new Building X sets the course for sustainable structural modernization throughout the university. It provides us with the necessary replacement space to be able to carry out renovations in the core of the university. At the same time, Building X is an essential element of the redesigned and traffic-calmed campus centre – an excellent place for academic exchange.”
