This week, the topping out ceremony for the KCOP Cleanroom Service Centre at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology was celebrated!
The innovative building for the Center for Optics & Photonics houses laboratories for interdisciplinary research and consists of a cleanroom and head building, which are connected by a unified building envelope.
The head building is functionally clearly structured, and the laboratories for optoelectronic components and photovoltaics in the cleanroom are optimally arranged. The homogeneous facade made of glass, wood, and fibre cement connects the different areas and, through generous glazing, provides exciting insights into the research areas.
A forward-looking building concept characterised by technological innovation and sustainable design underlines the pioneering role of the project. It contributes to sustainably shaping the research landscape at KIT.
We look forward to taking the next steps in the realisation together with our project partners.
