ICONIC AWARD 2024 for the Taikang Ningbo Hospital

The interior design of the newly built Taikang Ningbo International Hospital has been awarded the ICONIC AWARD 2024 in the “Innovative Architecture” category.

Our team, together with managing director Jian Yang, travelled from Beijing to Munich to personally accept the award. Ningbo, one of China’s oldest port cities, played a central role in the maritime Silk Road during the Tang Dynasty. This historical legacy is reflected in the hospital’s interior concept, which reinterprets the port city’s atmosphere. The three-storey reception hall, with its wave-patterned flooring and s-shaped furniture, evokes the movement of water. An impressive golden metal mesh, symbolising a fishing net, defines the space.

The award was presented by the German Design Council, recognising visionary design with a positive impact on the environment and society. The ceremony took place on 8 October 2023 in Munich.

We are proud of this recognition for the project.
