Healing Architecture 2004-2017

Christine Nickl-Weller (Ed.)

What does architecture have to do with health? Can architecture support the healing process? At the Technical University of Berlin, the Architecture for Health department researches and teaches how architecture could influence health. Applying the variable “health“ to all areas of life is the focus of the department’s teaching and research work. The term “Healing Architecture” represents the courage to think outside the box, to explore and to go beyond conventional conceptions of architecture.

Under the key words “health”, “science” and “healthy city”, the publication presents the large range of teaching and research content of the Architecture for Health department of the Institute for Architecture at TU Berlin under the direction of Prof. Christine Nickl-Weller. Students’ work is juxtaposed with expert guest contributions and projects from the practical activity of Nickl & Partner Architekten.
