Groundbreaking in Memmingen: The starting signal for the hospital of the future
The groundbreaking ceremony marks the beginning of construction for the new Memmingen Hospital and District Hospital, set for completion in 2029. With nearly 35,000 square metres of usable space and 480 inpatient beds in single and double rooms, the health campus will secure medical care for Memmingen’s surrounding areas, as well as the entire Allgäu region and neighbouring parts of Baden-Württemberg, up to Ulm.
Among the attendees were Bavarian Minister President Markus Söder and the Bavarian Minister of Health Judith Gerlach.
The mayor of Memmingen, Jan Rothenbacher, emphasised in his speech the importance of this new building for the town and region. Hospital board member Maximilian Mai added, “We are building here for the next 50 to 100 years.”
In addition to creating a welcoming environment for patients and staff, we aim for the hospital to receive certification as a “Green Hospital” as part of our planning efforts.
We are looking forward to working with our partner firms to ensure the successful realisation of this project!
