Nickl & Partner Architekten AG

Nickl & Partner Architekten AG and the Berlin landscape architecture firm POLA have been awarded an honourable mention in a competition for a hospital in Schkeuditz, near Leipzig.

The project relates to the rebuilding, redevelopment and expansion of buildings 19, 20 and 21 at Sächsisches Krankenhaus Altscherbitz, including room layouts, to incorporate two psychiatric wards.

The competition sought designs of a high architectural quality which would reflect the listed status of the buildings and surrounding open spaces, minimise energy consumption and provide a functional solution to the client’s needs.

Construction is scheduled to begin in 2015 and be completed by the end of 2017.
