70 invited guests attended the topping out ceremony for the automotive technology faculty’s new laboratory and seminar building in Wolfsburg. Nickl & Partner Architekten AG designed the new building. It increases faculty space by 2,000 square metres and will be used for state-of-the-art laboratory facilities.

The building includes a 17 m high drop tower, where collision simulations can be carried out with the support of high-resolution cameras. At 17 metres, the drop tower rises above the building and is sure to be impressive. Other technical highlights include a 1:4 scale wind tunnel and an advanced all-wheel dynamometer.

The €15 million investment is evidence of the importance of automotive technology in Wolfsburg. Good study conditions are a prerequisite for successful research and ensure the prominent position of vehicle engineering in Wolfsburg.
