The exhibition “Building to Heal: New Architecture for Hospitals” at the Architekturmuseum der TUM in the Pinakothek der Moderne was opened on 11 July 2023.
People-oriented, empathetic design in healthcare construction has been a guiding principle of Nickl & Partner for more than 40 years. Christine Nickl-Weller’s research at TU Berlin focused, for example, on “healing architecture”. We are therefore proud to have supported the preparation of this exhibition with our expertise in the field of “healing architecture” and are pleased to share our guiding principle with a broad public through projects, materials and techniques.
The exhibition explores the scientific foundations of “healing architecture”, its effectiveness and the challenges of its implementation. It presents outstanding examples of the interplay between medical, technical and economic requirements and architectural design. The aim is to demonstrate the influence of architecture on the healing process and to stimulate a public debate about the future of the hospital building type and its social relevance.
The exhibition will be open until the end of January 2024.
