The contrived expression “Livability of Health” signifies a focussing on livability of the health care system and the individual experience of health. One thing seems obvious, in view of the discussion about the storing of fitness data and health apps: Health care and avoidance of illness not only affects us in the event of a hospital stay. Concern about personal health penetrates every area of our lives. The citizen, the individual, has a duty to act responsibly. Is health a private matter? Or rather a mandate for the relief of the supportive society? Where do we live? How do we work? When do we get exercise? What do we eat? The attribute “healthy” could be attached to all of these questions. Concern about health extends deep into every aspect of our life. The four symposium sequences are therefore dedicated to the personal environment and thus people’s actual experience of their everyday environment.
This volume documents the lectures from the sixth Health Care of the Future Symposium organised by the Architecture for Health department at the Technical University of Berlin.
