New Building for Coburg University of Applied Sciences and Arts

The design for building 2a and the multistorey car park at Coburg University of Applied Sciences and Arts uses simple geometric forms and a logical layout, enclosing the central campus plaza on the north side and serving as a new and self-confident component of the university. Its square structure allows it to achieve its aims without competing with the existing buildings.

The car park was deliberately placed on the eastern edge of the site, where it is screened by the large number of existing trees. The two buildings are sufficiently compact to leave space for another large university building and expand the parking facility towards the north.
